    Battle of Lexington and Concord
    The Colonists won the battle of Lexington and Concord. There was 93 casualties for the Americans and, 273 casualties for the British. At Lexington the British goal was to capture to Colonial leaders Sam Adams and John Hancock. Then at Concord they would seize gunpowder stored there by the colonists.

     Battle of Fort Ticonderoga
    First American Victory in the American Revolution. Located on Lake Champlain Fort Ticonderoga served as a point of access to Canada and the Hudson River.

     Battle of Bunker Hill
    The Battle of Bunker Hill was in the beginning of the American Revolution. The British had a lot of casualties but they won. It was still a moral victory for the Americans though.

    The goal of the battle for the British was to take control of New York and then isolate New England from the rest of the colonies. The British beat the Washington's army but Washington told his army to flee and avoid capture.

    The Battle of Saratoga was the turning point of the American Revolution because when the Americans won the Battle of Saratoga the French became allies with them.

    George Washington and his army attack the back of the British army. The fighting stopped at sundown when it became to dark to fight. Around midnight the British army left and continued on to New York.

    The British army sustained heavy casualties and this battle was a turning point for the war in the Southern colonies.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    Battle of Yorktown
    An army of French and American troops led by George Washington and Comte de Rochambeau attacked the British army commanded by Lord Corwallis capturing two British defenses and leading to the surrender of nearly 9,000 British troops. This was the last battle of the American Revolution, and shortly afterward the British started peace negotiations.
