Writs of Assistance

Writs of Assistance was the written order issued by a court instructing a law enforcement offical.

Treaty of Paris of 1763

The document that ended the war between Britain & France over the Ohio River Valley. This treaty ended French power in North AMerica & expanded British territory & increase British debt.

Proclamation Line of 1763

This act was meant to keep the natives & colonists from fighting. It makes the colonists angry because thye cannot go west past the Appalahcian Mountains.

Sugar Act of 1764

The act when the colonists had to pay a tax of 6 pence. Most of the colonists worked around & didn't pay. The Brithish pass the sugar act of 1764.

Stamp Act of 1765

The act when the Brithish are not making enough money to pay for the French & Indian war. They needed to find something every colonists uses. The British pass the Stamp Act of 1765.

Quartering Act

May 3, 1765

This is the acy when the british want to make sure the colonists are doing what they are told, so they send over 10,000 british troops to the colonies.

Declaratory Act

Mar 18, 1766

This law said that British government had supreme authority to govern the colonies. Americans chose to ignore this declaration but the struggle fro who will control the colonies had begun.
