Boston Massacre
When redcoats shot five protesting colonists and killed them in the process. Boston Massacre is a turning point because it was the first murders to happen during the American Revolution. Also known as the first spilled blood of the American Revolution. The first killed was a runaway slave named Crispus Attucks, he is considered the first death of the American Revolution. -
Tea act
Tax on put on tea. This was another form that Britain could get money to pay off debt. -
Boston Tea Party
Colonists response to the Tea Act. Colonists dressed as Native Americans and hopped on a ship and threw all the cargo, which was tea into the ocean -
Intolerable Acts
Britain’s response to the Boston tea part. They punished the colonists by closing Boston port and bringing the quartering act back and also Massachusetts Government Act. -
Lexington and Concord
First battle fought between the patriots and British. Also known as the ‘‘shot heard around the world’’. -
Olive Branch Petition
Patriots way of asking for peace with Britain. But did not find it because Britain's government rejected the petition.
