    The sugar act was a tax made by the british parliaments that made colonists pay for molasses, sugar, and other imported things for a cheaper price. They made the colonists buy their tea to make them stop buying it from foreign places. They then raised importat prices which angered colonists. This was important in the American Revolution because it made people fired up.

    The stamp act placed duties on paper items. The Stamp act was put into place by the British parliament as a way to show their authority over the colonies. This is significant because it riled up colinists and made them think about revolting.

    During the Bostone Massacre colonists were rioting against the British. They were throwing rocks and sticks at the ritish soldiers. The british soldiers fired and killed 5 people. The massacre took place in Boston, and was significant because it led to the removal of the british soldiers and caused a spark for the American Revolution.

    The Tea act was the final act that caused the Revolutionary war to start. It was not an act to increase revenue. It was used more to get under the colonists skin, and annoy them. This act led to the Boston tea party, and it was enforced by the british parliament.

    During the Boston Tea Party a group of colonists enter three british ships and dump 342 chests full of tea into the ocean. The event took place in Massachusetts. It was important because it was a sign of revolt, and word spread throughout the colonies.

    Paul Revere took part in the Boston Tea Party, and was the principal rider for Boston's Committee of safety. He was bron on January 1, 1735 and died on May 10, 1818. He helped th spark of revolution take it's place.

    Battle of Lexington and Concord
    The Battle of Lexingron and Concord were located in Lexington and Concord. The colonists won the battle because of the midnighr riders, who gathered militia who made the britsh flee under intense fire. The reason this battle was fought was because of the building tensions between the colonists and the british. This win against the british was a confidence booster for the colonists. 250 redcoars died and around 90 minutemen were wounded or killed.

    The Battle of Bunker Hill was fought in Massachusetts. The winner of the war was the British, but many of them were wounded. This was significant because many of the colonists gained confidence.

    Thomas Paine was important because of the written essay " Common Sense." This stated that americans needed immediate independence from Britain.This written peace showed Americans that breaking away from the British was a necessity. Thomas Paine was bron in 1737, and died in June of 1809. He was a turning point in the opinions of the Americans.

    John Locke was one of the founders of the Whig party. He also provided philosophical wisdom and ideas for his time. He was significant because he wrote alot about human nature and education, which led to the Act of Toleration. He was born on Augut 29, 1632, and died on October 28, 1704.

    Thomas Jefferson was one of the founding fathers of America. He wrote the Declaration of Independence, which led our nation to freedom. He was bron on April 13, 1743 and died on July 4, 1826. He was the statesman responsible for the Lousianna Purchase, as well as the third president of the United States.

    The Battle of Trenton was fought in Delaware. The winner of the battle was the Colonists. The victory reasserted American control of New Jersey anf greatly improved morale and unity of the colonists. This was significant becasue it strengthened the power of the colonial army.

    The battle of Saratoga was fought in New York. The colonists won the battle and forced the british to retreat, then made them surrender. This was significant because it showed the French that the colonists were good allies. We allied the French and it is considered as a turning point in the war.

    The battle of Yorktown ended all the fighting in the american colonies. This battle marked the end of the Revolutionary War. The war ended on October 19, 1781. The war was won by the Americans, which completely surrounded the British during the fighting. This war was important for our hostry because it marked our nation's freedom from Great Britain.

    Benjamin Franklin significant because he negotiated the Treaty of Paris, which led to the end of the Revolutionary War. He was a scientist, inventor, and scholar, making him famouse during his time, and ours. He was born on January 17, 1706, and died on April 17, 1790. His achievements helped put and end to the war, and helped the nation as a whole.
