    Navagation Acts
    Navagations Acts were a series of acts that had restricted forign trade between Britan and its colonies. The reason for these acts was to protect English trade and secure profits. The colonists were struggling because of these laws because now they had to pay more to get the goods they need. These laws were passed to make it harder for the colonists to grow stronger.

    Proclamation of 1763
    The Proclamation of 1763 was issued by King George III, it closed off frontier to colonal expanstion. It was stated in the proclamation that parts of land were closed off to colonies. This made the colonists mad and fearful that everything they had worked for was now being taken away from them.

  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    The Sugar Act was passed in 1764 by parlament. The colonists and whoever else needed the sugar now had to pay an extra tax on it to get what they need. They had raised the tax so much it was ridiculous. The sale on the sugar had went down soon after. The colonists were not happy about having to pay this much for something they need. This set the stage for a revolt.

    Stamp Act
    A tax was put on newspapers and commerical documents by British Parlament. The colonists went agaisnt this tax and it was repealed later on. This had led to colonists not trusting British even more.
  • Quatering Act

    Quatering Act
    This act made the colonies house the British soilders in barracks the colonists had to provide. When they ran out of room in the barracks the loals had to house the soilders in their homes. This didn't go over well with the colonists because they felt forced, if they would have been asked to house the soilders it may have gone over better.

    Townshed Act
    The Townshed acts put taxes on glass, lead, paper and tea that the colonies get imported to them. The coloinsts thought it was power abuse and the British Parlament was being unfair. This act caused the coloinies more distrust with Britian,
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    Colonists attacked the soiliders in Boston with clubs and threw snowballs filled with ice at them. The soilders shot back and killed six of the colonists. This was an act of violence from both parties but it was ruled that the British was acting in self defense.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    This was a protest against the taxes on sugar and everything else. The colonists went to the habor where the British were brigning in tea on boats and dumped them into the harbor. This was a rebel agaisnt Britian and a huge step stone into the revoution.
  • Intolerable Acts

    Intolerable Acts
    This act was put in place by British Parlament to punish colonists for the Boston Tea Party. There was three of these acts and the colonists reaction was hatred. This is an act of differences between the coloinists and the British goverment and added to the tensions.
  • Lexington and Concord

    Lexington and Concord
    The british marched from concord to lexington and as they marched Paul Revere and others went around screaming "The British are coming, The British are coming!!". The British soon retreeted soon after. This was seen as an act of violence because of the fighting.
