    The stamp act was when the government put high tyaxes on all printed material. This act was repealed because people took it to the streets to protest about the taxes.
  • Patrick Henry's famous speech

    Patrick Hengry gave a speech for hundreds to hear. His main message was "f this be treason, make the most of it!" This caused many people to stand up for what they belive in, and keep fighting.

    The American Revolution was when the thirteen colonies of America decides to break free from Britain's grasp. In these years they lost and won many battles.
  • The Boston Massacre

    The Boston Massacre was when British soldiers shot and killed five colonists. The first dead, was an african american,Crispus A. This led to a campaign of speeches.
  • The Boston Tea Party

    This was an effect of the partial repeal of the Townshed acts. People expected the same outcome from the repeal of the Stamps Act. The crown taxed the colonists on sugar and tea. The Gaspee was burned by colonists angry about taxes and British harassment of their ships.

    Intollerable Acts

    This was a time when the colonists were furious with the goverment. They did actions to protest the goverment, known as the intollerable acts. For example, Boston Port Act, Administration of Justice Act, Massachusetts Government Act, Quartering Act of 1774, and Quebec Act.
  • Common Sense is published

    This book by T. Paine, challenged the British government and royal monarchy. This was the very first public declaration of a plea for independence from Britain.
  • French Alliance

    The United States and French signed the French Alliance. The treaty provided for a defensive alliance to aid France should England attack, and that neither France nor the United States would make peace with England until the independence of the United States was recognized.
  • U.S. Constitution signed

    The constitution was signed by all the major names in history. This was a sign that America was changing for good. Although it was not official untill New Hampshiore ratified it, the colonists were happy.
  • U.S. Constitution adopted

    The U.S. Constitiution was officially adipted when New Hampshire ratified.
