  • End of French and Indian War

    The french and indian war ended which led to the end of salutary neglect because Britain had debts so they began to tax the colonists and enforce trade laws.
  • Sugar Act

    One of the first taxes,the colonists viewed the law as the purpose of raising revune, they were opposed to it, they felt they would need to be represented. Britian claimed it was their policy of mercantilism, means controlling colonial trade, but colonists disagreed.
  • Stamp Act

    Direct tax colonists thought was for the purpose of revunue, had no say in the matter.Colonists objected to virtual representation because they still weren't being represented.
  • Townshend Acts

    Britian was taxing imports. Colonists said it was for raising revunue and they weren't going to pay without representation. Stopped buying British goods till they would appeal the law.
  • Boston Massacre

    Conflict between Britain and the colonists. The colonists taunted the British and the British fired weapons and the colonists tried to fight back.
  • Tea Act

    East India sold tea to the colonists at inexpensive prices. When the colonists bought the tea they did not know they were paying taxes, they did not approve of the taxes.
  • Intolerable Acts

    When Britain punished the colonists for the Boston Tea party, it escalated the Colonists anger.
