    French and Indian War
    French and Indian war: The French and Indian war was a series of battles fought by the French and the Natives agaiirginia colonists. The very first battle was at Fort Necessity in 1754. What caused the war was the French started to build forts in 1753 to back their claim to the land between Lake Eric and the Ohio river. This was a problem because Virginia colony also claimed the Ohio River Valley. The colonists reacted by fighting and it started the French and Indian War. After the war ended

  • Treaty of Paris

    Treaty of Paris (1763): The Treaty of Paris is a peace treaty with Britain . we made boundaries from the Atlantic on the east, to Canada, to Mississippi River in the west, and to Florida in the south. This happened because Britain recognized independence of the U.S. The colonists reacted by returning Florida to Spain. After the Treaty of Paris we have celebrated our independence on July 4th.

    Pontiacs war (1763): The Pontiacs war started with an attack on British forts and settlements through the area. This happened because at the end of the French and Indian war, the leader of the Ottwa nation formed an alliance of the Western Native Americans. The colonists reaction was to fight. After the war ended, the Pontiacs won.
  • Sugar Act 1763

    Sugar Act (1763): The Sugar Act was the British putting new taxes on things such as molasses, and sugar. It happened because the British knew that sugar was a popular product because lots of people drank tea with sugar in it so the put a tax on it and said “if lots of people are buying sugar then why don’t we raise the price and make more money off of it”. Colonist did not like this at all. After that happened there were smugglers.

    Proclamation of 1763: The Proclamation of 1763 was almost like a law because it banned colonial settlement west of a line drawn along the Appalachian Mountains. This happened because Britain wanted to avoid further wars with Native Americans on the Frontier. Colonists liked the fact that there were going to be fewer wars. After this there were less wars.

    Stamp Act (1765): The Stamp Act is a law that required all colonists to buy special tax stamps for all kinds of products. This happened because Parliament wanted to get more money from us. The colonists did not like this at all. Protests against the Stamp Act were widespread. People tried to use things that had to be stamped as little as possible.
  • The Quartering Act

    Quartering Act (1765): The Quartering act was a law to help save money by putting the soldiers in the houses of the Colonists. This happened because Parliament wanted to save money, so they did not have to take care, feed, or house the soldiers. The colonist did not like this because it was an invasion of privacy, and they had to take care, and feed them which costs extra money. Furthermore the colonists kept protesting.
  • Boston Massacre

    The Boston Massacre (1770): On March 5, 1770, 5 people were shot and killed by soldiers. It happened because a mob of colonists surrounded and provoked a small group of soldiers. The soldiers paniced and fried into the crowd. The Colonists were frightened by this. After this happened it was called the Boston Massacre, because 5 innocent people died that day.
  • Tea Act

    Tea Act (1773): The Tea Act is the event where when Parliament passed it, they raised the tax on tea. This happened because they took taxes off of lots of things but Parliament wanted to show the colonist that they still own them, so they raised the taxes on tea. The colonists were out raged, so they protested. Then came the Boston Tea Party.

    The Intolerable Acts: King George lll called for tough action to make examples of the people of Boston and Massachusetts. In response to the incident Parliament passed four laws called the Intolerable Acts. The colonists did not like this. They rethought there relations ship with the British.
  • The Shot Heard Around the World

    The shot hear around the world: The shot heard around the world is an event where there were minute men where called in and went to fight the British. Someone in the British crowd fired and killed minute men. This shot started the Revolutionary war. The colonists were very upset about this. After this the Revolutionary War started. This took place April 18th 1775
  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    Battle of Bunker Hill: The Americans went to the top of Bunker Hill and the British attacked. This happened because the Americans were smart to go to the top of the hill because the people climbing could fire up because it’s harder. After the British failed to succeed they gave up and It was an American victory. The Battle of Bunker Hill took place in 1775
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston tea party (1777): The Boston tea party was an event where a group called the Sons of Liberty planned to stop the cast Indian tea company from being unloaded. They were threatening ship captains who were bringing in the tea. They dumped the tea into the Boston harbor. Colonist were happy that the Sons of Liberty dumped the tea into the harbor. After that, the Sons of Liberty were arrested.
  • Washington's Farewell

    Washington’s farewell (1783) : On December 4, 1783, Washington and his ranking officers reunited for the last meal together. They met at the Fraunces Tavern, N.Y. This happened because Washington was going to fight the next day so they wanted to have one last meal. The next day Washington went off.
