    The outcome of the French and Indian War was Britain getting all of France's land up until the Mississippi River. The reason Britain got into the war was so they could expand there colonies west to the fertile soils in the Ohio River Valley. The colonists liked this idea because they got more room to settlon and better farming land.
  • Treaty of Paris

    Treaty of Paris
    It was the closing of the French and Indian War. It pretty much gave Spain and Britain all of France's land. Britain got what was east of the Mississippi River and gave Spain what was east of the Mississippi River. Britain's main reason for signing this was because they got what they had wanted more land!! The colonists were still on Britain's side at this point because nothing bad happeed to the colonsts so far.

    The Proclamation of 1763 was a document that stated British colonists couldn't go west of the Appalachian Moutains. The main pointof this was to protect the colonists from native attacks, but the sneaky thing the British did though was they told the colonists they could gopast only if they were willing to pay for protection. This made the colonists very angry. they felt they should be able to go without paying anything for protection, or at least go and take the risk.

    The stamp act was a tax placed on British imports. The purpose of this was to make up for the loss of money in the French and Indian War. This didnt sit too well with the colonists and kinda made them start to realize they didnt need Great Britain anymore.

    The stamp act was when King George the third put a tax on a certain stamp and other duuties. this was also to gain bac the money lost in the French and Indian War. At this point the colonists felt like they were just getting pushed around.

    The writs of assistance was a paper that allowedthe owner of that paper the right to search any property without having to have a reason. This was created because people were smuggling good into the country so they didnt have to pay the King's taxes. this really ticked off the colonists just making the rebellion fire even bigger.

    The Townshed Acts were made to raise revenue in the colonies. It also made it to wear the colonists had to pay for governors and judges. This also angered the colonists greatly.

    The quartering act was when British soilders could go into any house they wanted to and stay there for free. They could also damage homes if they didnt like the person that lived there and not have to pay anything. This ticked the colonists off even more because their property got damaged.

    The Boston Massacre was when British troop fired on a crowd of unarmed colonists. There was five killed. The British soliders shot because the colonists were being unrully and they thought there may be a riot. this just added more fuel to the colonists fire.

    The boston tea party was when the sons of liberty dressed up like native americans and dumped all the tea off of the a British cargo ship. This was a way to protest the British taxes. This was a change, this made the British angry.

    The intolerable acts were a series of laws created by the british parliment.They were created to try to make the colonists think they couldnt rebel from great Britain. This made the colonists even more ready to rebel.
  • First Continental Congress

    The first met in 1774 to talk about a response to the Intolerable Acts. There was 12 men in the first continental congress, one from every colony with the exception of Georgia. They decicded that they woukd block all trade with England. Every colony was asked to start training there own armies. But they were not yet ready for a revolution.

    The battle at Lexington is well know to many people the shot heard around the world. It is also the first battle of the American Revolution. The British won because the Miltia was out numbered by hundreds. But this was just the start of a long hard fought war.
  • Concord

    The battle of Concord was the first battle that the Americans won. Basically the British came to destroy all of the supplies the Americans had but the militiawas waiting thank to the midnight ride by Paul Revere. He rode through the town yelling "the british are coming". The militia was waiting for them and oushed them back and hid all they're supplies.

    The first continental congress met in 1774. They met to dicuss a way to make peace with the british because they didnt want an up rise. They came up with the Olive Branch Petition. This was a petition made to say is King George took off all the taxes they would put everything behind them. The King simply laughed it off and said no way. That was a big mistake on his part. They also decided that it was time to create a contonental army. They choose George Washington to lead this army.

    At the battle of Bunker Hill the militia fortified the hills around Boston Harbor so they could shoot the British ships as they came in. The British marched up the hills killing the Continental army. The continental army was told dont shoot until you see the white of their eyes. This meant the British would be able to shoot the colonists too. The British won the Battle but still lost 1,000 soldiers.

    Common Sense was a phamplat writtenby Thomas Paine. It was written to fire up the colonists about the Revolution. In it he says that they shouldnt let a little island control a whole nation. He also said there are more then one market that will buy there corn.

    The Declaration of Indenpendence was a doucument written by the second continental congress, but mainly Thomas Jefferson. It stated that America was a free country and that Britain didnt control them any more. This is won of the most important doucuments in U.S. history.

    The British want ed capture New York because it was the center of our economics, like it is today. They attacked Washington's army at Long Island. There was heavy caualties. Washington escaped capture and retreated to Pennsylvania. British end up controling New York the rest of the war. Washington was humiliated bythis defeat.

    In 1776 Washington and his army crossed the frix=zen Delaware River andlanched a surprise attack on the Hessians. His army captured over 800 hHessians. Hessians were German soldiers that were hired by the British.

    The battle of Princeton was another win for the Americans. They charged into Princeton and captured 300 British Soldiers. The Americans were lead by George Washington.
  • Battle of Saratoga

    The battle of saratoga was a major turning pointin the war. It was major because we took out the British general Burgoyne, We also made an alliance with the French and Spain. This Battle concluded the fighting in the north.The winning General of the battlewas Heratio Gates. Benedict Arnold became a traitor after this battle.
  • Winter at Valley Forge

    Washington and his troops spent the winter of 1777-1778 at Valley Forge Pennsylvania. His troop were in deperate needof food and warm clothing. Marquis de Lafayette used his own money toclthe and train troops at Valley Forge.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    Battle of Yorktown
    General Lord Cornwallis set up a camp for his troops in Virginia to wait for reinforcements. This was when Washington made his move. James Amistead was a double agent/ slave for General Washington. He told him that this was his chance to end it all. A fleet of French naval ships blocked off the harbor as Washington sent in his troops and forced General Cornwallis to surrender after a three week long battle, ending the revolutionary war!!!

    The treaty of Paris sealed the deal for the Revolutionary War. It stated that the British would have to recongnize america as a independent nation. It aslo said America got all land east of the Mississippi river from Canada to Florida. Plus America had to give back all land taken away from the loyalists. AMERICA IS NOW FREE!!!
