  • French and Indian war 1754-1763

    This war was about the British and the French fighting over land. They were doing this because they wanted to gain more land.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    Britain would not let the colonist cross the Appalachain Mountains. The British did this because if the colonists did cross them the British would not be able to protect them.When this happened the colonists were very angry with the British because they did not want to be told what to do.
  • Treaty Of Paris 1763

    Britain claimed all land east of the Mississippi. The colonists settled in the Ohio river valley and the Native Americans attacked.
  • Sugar Act Of 1764

    The goverment placed a tax on all sugar and molassis. They did this so they could get more money to help pay for the war.This tax did not affect many colonist but the thought of another tax was a growing issue.
  • Stamp Act

    The goverment put a tax on any piece of paper used or bought. They made this tax to also get more money too pay for the war. Colonists organized a stamp act congress to organize boycotts.
  • Writs Of Assitance

    All officers could search any ship at will with no warrent. When they did this they could be using it o steal.take money,kidnapp people etc. All the merchants were mad because they were being invaded of their privacy.
  • Townshend Acts

    The goverment placed another tax on any and all household items. They made this tax to also earn money to pay for the war. Colonists boycotted by non-importation agreement.
  • Boston Massacre

    A mob confronted soldiers and 5 colonists got killed. Colonists and soldiers were mad at eachother so the colonists confronted the soldiers. When it was called a massacre the colonists got very angry.
  • Quarting Act

    GOverment made the colonists house,feed, and supply for the soldiers. This was cheaper for the goverment instead of buying everything themselves.Colonists hated this rule but little could be done to change it.
  • Tea Act

    This happned because the tea merchants were cut out of the tea trade because the British were selling tea for a lower price. The result of this happening was that the colonists were taken out of the tea trade.
  • Boston Tea Party

    The sons of liberty got mad and dumped 90,000 pounds of tea into the Boston harbor. The result of the Sons Of Liberty doing this was the Intoleranle Acts
  • Intolerable Acts

    The results of the Intolerable Acts was; the colonists could not hold town meetings, the boston port was closed, the first continental congress meets,customs officials tried in Britain, and individual colonies began to unify.

    Members of the 2nd continental congress included John/Samuel Adams, John Hancock, Benjamin Franklin,and George Washingtotn. They decided to make the Declaration of Independence and George washington as president.

    British were met by hundreds of minutemen on a bridge outside of concord Minutemen forced british to retreat.

    The first shots of the revolutionary war was in lexington. British reached Lexington on April19,1775.

    The first continental congress met in philedelphia for the intolerable acts. They agreed to ban all trade with Britain until acts were repealed.
