    Native Americans have been around for hundreds of years when Christopher Columbus discovered America they were already hearing. There are over 500 different types of native Americans​ discovered when Christopher Columbus came there were over 2 million Natives here. Only 200 years later about 90% of Natives had died due to disease and men killing them.

    Folklore is a type of literature that the native Americans came up with, this was a way for them to share their stories for later generations. These stories always had a lesson in them because they wanted to teach later natives.

    This story is about a giant beaver that would not let fisherman or anyone drink or fish from his water until one day a coyote was fed up and fought him. The coyote threw a spear at the beaver and they rolled down the lake causing water to rush out and make rivers and along with the river tribes were created, then the coyote killed the beaver. The lesson was that each part of the beaver symbolized a certain strength for the tribes.

Jackson grew up extremely poor so he had been in the same position as other people in the U.S. and because of this Jackson was was able to understand what the people wanted and help them.

    "The Scarlet Letter" was a book that really related to the Salem Witch trial because of the time period that the book was in. Throughout the book, we hear a lot of accusations of witchcraft and people being put up on trial.

    Dred Scott was a black man owned by a white man but not considered a slave. Scott lived in a slave-free state, therefore, he was not considered a slave until he moved to Missouri a slave state. After moving to Missouri Scott believed because he came from a slave-free state he should be considered a U.S. citizen. The court decided no black man could be considered a U.S. citizen. People who supported Dred helped Lincoln become elected.

    The Civil war started because of tensions between the north and south and their views on slavery. Another reason was because of Abraham Lincoln being elected for the presidency. States started to try to "leave" the U.S. and that's what started the civil war. The war lasted for four years, 620,000 soldiers died, and the northern​ states came out victorious.

    WW1 began because of the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife. This sparked allied powers and central powers to go to war, the war lasted and 4 years and about 16 million soldiers were killed.

    The Great Gatsby relates to WW1 because throughout the book people spread and say that Gatsby was a war hero. It also relates to the stock market crash because the book took place in the years leading up to crash.

    In 1929 the stock market plummeted, in about four days stock prices dropped about 12%, this caused millions of people to lose money. Years before the crash the stock market was increasing and leading up to the crash it was at an all-time high.

    WW2 was started because of the German leader Adolf Hitler who basically took over Germany and tried to expand his power by invading Poland. Because of this allied powers declared war on Germany. The war lasted 6 years and about 50 million people died.

    The great depression was the 10 year period after the stock market crash. many People were trying to rebuild their lives because they didn't have much money after the crash so this caused them to lose their homes and many jobs and businesses were failing so a lot of people lost jobs.

Hilter had an idea of a race where people had blond hair and blue eyes, people who had these characteristics were superior to everyone. Hitler wanted people who were not like this killed, including 6 million Jews, he did this by creating an​ "army" called Nazis.
