    The Battle of Horseshoe Bend was fought by the U.S.(including 600 "friendly" Indians, including 100 Creek Indians)In and the Native Americans(specifically The Creek Tribe). After a long battle, Andrew Jackson stormed the Creek indians and their power was no more.

    The Battle of New Orleans was the last major battle of the War of 1812. The battle was fought against 4500 U.S. troops, led by General Andrew Jackson, and 7500 British soldiers. The British were defeated in 30 min, and Andrew Jackson was established as a national hero.

    Otherwise known as The "Corrupt Bargain". The Candidates were Andrew Jackson, John Q. Adams, Henry Clay, and William Crawford. The vote went to the House of Representatives who picked from the top 3- Jackson, Adams, and Crawford. Clay used his position as Speaker of the House to persuade representatives to vote for Adams, who won.

    Considered as one of the dirtiest elections in American History. It was between Andrew Jackson and John Quincy Adams. Both parties started to "mudsling" each other. In other words, the two parties spread lies. In the end, Andrew Jackson won the election in a landslide with 56% popular vote.

    The Nullification Crisis
    Congress passed the Tariff Bill of 1828 which was the highest import tax ever. This tax hurt South Carolina and other Southern states. South Carolina passed the Nullification Act and declared the tariff illegal. South Carolina to secede if the tariff was not changed or nullified.Henry Clay came up a compromise that lowered the tariff but gave the president more power to use force if a state threatened to secede.
  • Indian Removal Act

    Indian Removal Act
    After the case of Worcester vs Georgia, Jackson pushed the "Indian Removal Act" through Congress which gave the president power to move Native Americans west of the Mississippi. Many Native Americans, mostly Cherokee, were forced to move. By 1837, over 45000 Native Americans were removed from multiple states. Over 4000 people lost their lives on this trip.

    Worcester vs. Georgia
    In a desire to attract more white settlers, Georgia began moving west. The Supreme Court decided that Indians had the right to stay in the case Worcester vs. Georgia. Jackson believed he did not have the power as president to interfere with Georgia's rights and stop the removal. Eventually, Jackson pushed the "Indian Removal Act" through Congress.

    It was a name given to a campaign by Andrew Jackson to destroy the Second Bank of the U.S. During Oct. 1st 1833, Andrew Jackson announced that federal funds would no longer go to the Bank of the U.S. By the end of 1833, Andrew Jackson put the money into 23 state banks. Also known as pet banks.
