  • Bacon's Rebellion

    Bacon's Rebellion
    In 1675 Nathaniel Bacon organized a force of 1,000 westeners to kill Native Americans. The goverment didn't like his idea and he burned down Jamestown. This rebellion was over when he got sick and passed away.
  • Bill of Rights

    Bill of Rights
    King William and his wife signed the English Bill of Rights. The Bill of Rights started trial by jury, habeas corpus, and declared monachs could levy or raise taxes without consent of Parliment.
  • The French and Indian War

    The French and Indian War
    The French and Indian War begins because the French are trying to take land back between Lake Erie and the Ohio River. Washington was sent and the French were already building a fort. The French ordered him to leave and he did.
  • Pontiac's War

    Pontiac's War
    In May the leader of the Ottawa nation formed an alliance with the Native Americans and attacked the British. By 1764 Poniac and his forces were stopped and the war was over.
  • The Proclamation of 1763

    The Proclamation of 1763
    The British did not want to have more wars with the Native Americans so they issued the Proclamation of 1763. It banned colonial settlement west of the Appalation Mountains. Settlers were told they had to move east.

    The Quarting Act saved money. It made people house soldiers and give them food and supplies.

    The British created a new way to tax the colonies when the passed the Sugar Act. it put a duty on products, like molasses. If you were a smuggler there were harsh consequeses.

    The Stamp Act was very unpopular it made all of the colonist buy special stamps for all products like newspaper, willis, licenses, insurance, contracts, and others.

    An angry crowd in Boston surrounded a small group of British soldiers. They yelled and through things at them. And the soldiers killed five people and wounded six.

    Samual Adams establised the Commitee of Correspondence which kept colonists informed on all of the British actions.

    The Townshend Acts set the system up to enforce import duties. Officers were allowed to make searches without stating what they were seaching for.

    In 1773 the Parliment passed the Tea Act which was suppost to help out the British East India Company.

    December 17th, 1773 a large group of people diguised as Native Americans went onto a ship and dumped 342 cases of tea into the harbor.

    In the town of Lexington only 77 minute men were waiting for the arrival of the British. When they arrived they told the minute men to leave. They didn't want to leave so there was a shot and nobody knows who fired but that was the first shot of the American Revolution.

    American soldiers spent their winter at Valley Forge because of terrible weather conditions. They faced many problems like lack of food. While they were struggling to survive the British were partying in Philadelphia.
