    Anti imperialists were formed againist the battle for the annexation of the Philippines. They were opposed to the idea of expansion, and thought that it was a violation of a fundemental republican government.

    Panama and Columbia were in land dispute during construction talk of the Panama Canal. Panama went to war with Columbia and the U.S. navy helped Panama. Panama won and in return gave the U.S. control of the Panama Canal. Later on, Theodore Roosevelt alter the Monroe Docterine, and then the U.S. was allowed to get involved with Latin America. America offered to help stabalize countries in return for products like oil, suger, etc, and would later lead to the banana war in latin America.

    Big stick Diplomacy was a term used to describe acts of being peaceful with the miltary to back you up. Roosevelt used this to stop the British and German naval blockade on Venesuela. Roosevelt announced corollary on venesuela which maintained the peace, and gave each country an obligation to outsiders.

    The Mexican Revolution

    The Mexican Revolution broke out over Porfirio Diaz refusing to leave his spot as president of Mexico, and to allow the next election. Revolution rose in the north and the south of Mexico, and Diaz was killed in 1911. Evan after that the revolution continued and millions died. In 1920 Alvaro Obregon took up the spot of presidency to end the revolution.

    President Woodrow Wilson declared the U.S. as a neautral country at the begining of WWI because most of the U.S. population thought that was best. But later on, Woodrow Wilson would become angered by the Germans sinking countless U.S. Ships, and he would send America into war. On April 2 wilson would ask congress to go into war, and to days later they said yes. On June 26, U.S. infantry troops land in France
