    Inspired by World War II the Africans began rebel against colonization.

    Finally South Africa was give their independence for Great Britain.

    The Kikuyu people of Kenya started a political organization in the 1920s so they could fight for their freedom.

    By the 1930s the only country left to be colonized are Ethiopia. But, Italy invaded in 1930.

    White Africans called Afrikaners made apartheid law.

    In 1956 Sudan gained independence for Great Britain.

    South Africa held its first election in 1994, and Nelson Mandela was elected.

    Rwanda continued to have violence until 1994 when the Hutu People stared to engage the Tutsi people.

    The Tunisia people began to push for a democratic government starting in 2010.

    South Sudan recognized its independence in 2011.

    President Ben Ali resigned and a democratic government was set in place.

    Finally in 2011 Qaddafi was found and killed, and a new goverment was set in place.

    In 2011 Mubarak was forced to resign and he was replaced.
  • Mohammed Morsi

    Mubarak was replaced by an Islamic fundamentalist government and it was led by Mohammed Morsi in 2012.

    In 2013 Morsi’s term was short lived because it was overthrown by the coutries military.
