  • French and Indian War Begins

    French and Indian War Begins
    The French and Indian War started on May 28, 1754. The French and Indian War was started because of the confusion of whether the Ohio River Valley was a part of the British Empire meaning that it would be open for trade or if it was a part of the French Empire. The colonists were very angry with the decision of starting the war because they just wanted to live on that land even though it belonged to the Native Americans.

    French and Indian War Ends
    The French and Indian War ended on February 10, 1763. The French and Indian War ended due to the Treaty of Paris. After the French and Indian War the colonists felt as though they didn’t need protection from the British government anymore and thought they were able to live on their own.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    The Sugar Act was put into action on April 5, 1764. This Act put an end to trading sugar and molasses and increased the revenue for the British government. The colonists were outraged by this because they felt as though they were being held captive by the British.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    The Stamp Act was established on March 22, 1765. The Stamp Act was created by the British and this made the colonists pay taxes for printed materials such as stamps. This made the colonists more upset because more rules were being put on them.
  • Declaratory Act

    Declaratory Act
    The Declaratory Act occurred in 1766. This is when the British Parliament agreed to appeal the Stamp Act. The colonists were a little relieved but also angry because the British made the colonists aware that they were on control of them.
  • Townshend Act

    Townshend Act
    The Townshend Act was formed on June 15, 1767. The Townshend Act was a series of taxes formed for the British colonies funded by the American colonies. The colonists were mad about this because they thought they would be getting more freedom but obviously they were still being treated like they were less than the British.
  • Tea Act

    Tea Act
    The Tea Act was formed on May 10, 1773. The Tea Act was formed to help decrease the overpopulation of tea in a British company and to help the company survive. The colonists were outraged by the Tea Act because they believed that their colonial merchants were getting cut short of their pay because the British trading the tea were getting more money.
  • Revolutionary War Begins

    Revolutionary War Begins
    The Revolutionary War started on April 19, 1775. This war was between the American colonists and the British. The colonists wanted to fight and win this war to declare and win their independence from Britain.
