  • Proclamation of 1763

    Proclamation of 1763
    It reserved all the western territory for use by the native Americans. The crown tried to stop western expansion and the colonists felt like they were disregarding thier right to occupy the land.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    It made foreign rum illegal, and imposed taxes on luxury items such as wine, silks, coffees. Colonists felt like paying these taxes would ruin their businesses. Then they started preaching no taxation without representation.

    Currency Act
    It prevented people from using paper bills of credit to pay off any debt. The colonist were already short of money because of the trade system so this act added a burden on the colonists.
  • Quartering Act

    Quartering Act
    This required colonist to provide the warriors with food and water and somewhere to sleep. The colonists didn't agree with the Act because it went against their rights.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    This was a tax put on all letters, pamphlets, and license and other paper documents, that required a stamp and was used to protect the colonies. The colonists disagreed and didn't think they should have to pay the tax.
  • Townshend Act

    Townshend Act
    The act was meant to reduce British taxes and it put duties on imports on paper, glass, lead, and tea. The colonist disagreed with this and didn't believe their should be tax on the colonies and found other items to replace these.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    This was a harmless fight between the British and Bostonians but then turned into three Bostonians and the British showing how heartless they could really be. They removed the Townshend Acts except on Tea and the colonists had won a big disagreement.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    Colonists were upset about the tax on tea and disguised themselves as native Americans and boarded three ships with tea and threw all the tea in the Boston Harbor.

    In response of the Boston Tea party Parliament passed these laws. The Boston port was closed until all the tea was paid for, which would ruin the economy and they couldn't hold meetings.

    It was a part of the Coresive Acts and was put in place to find British soldiers a place to sleep and eat and being taken care of.
  • Quebec Act

    Quebec Act
    This act threatened colonial expansion and extended the boundaries of the province of Quebec. It later was added with the intolerable acts.
  • Declaratory Act

    Declaratory Act
    This act got rid of the stamp act because all the boycotts and the colonists acting against it hurt British trade.
