    We move to Arizona, home to the Grand Canyon National Park, the nation's leading copper producer, and where 300 of 365 days of the year, there is sunshine! At one time camels were used to transport goods across Arizona.

    For graduation from Alhambra High School, (which means 'The Fortress' in Spanish), my dad gives me a 1998 4-door, red, Dodge Stratus. I name him David!

    I study abroad at Universidade Federal da Bahia in Salvador, Brazil learning Portuguese.

    The University of ArizonaI become the first in my immediate family to graduate from a four-year-institution, with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Portuguese, and a minor in Latin American Studies, but I won't be the last! A couple of years later, my mother gets her bachelors as well.

    Teaching internship in São Paulo, Brazil! It is everything I could've imagined and more! A couple of cool fats:
    More people of Japanese descent live in São Paulo than in any other city outside of Japan.
    São Paulo is home to 18 million people and is the third largest city in the world. The city has more cars than Rio de Janeiro has people.
    Traffic is super congested here!!

    My first experience with Tamwood is at Boston's Curry College! Here is a picture towards the end of camp with myself and a few staff. I and a staffer later join the UCLA Tamwood campus, because the staff needs more personnel!

    My second abroad teaching experience is with EPIK, or the English Program in Korea, although I went through the IMOE, Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education. For two years, I teach at a public middle school in South Korea's Yeonsu-gu, in Incheon! I would do it all over again!
    The picture: the last day of school, students who seem to be the least interested in class, actually tell me they'll miss me, run up and snap a picture! ::tear::

    After a very long start and stop and start again process, completing a research project and dissertation abroad (South Korea), I finally graduate from London's University of Westminster!

    For my mother's 50th birthday, I plan a surprise trip to O'ahu! It is the first of two trips I will make in just one year!!

    After a few months of travel on the way back from South Korea, I finally return to Phoenix, Arizona. I now work at Western School of Science and Technology, a Challenge Foundation Academy.
