    As James Oglethorpe landed at the coast of Geporgia his allies the Yamacraw indians, graciously allowed the European settlers to settle on Yamacraw Bluff.

    Promnent Religion
    After the Revolution religion became a very importat thing to the citezens of Georgia, around the time of 1783 preachers traveled through the backwoods of Georgia hosting revivals and camp meetings. The two most prominent religions were Methodist and Baptist, with Baptist branching off of Methodist. Both religions recieved large and diverse congregations as there sermons were seen as angelic and wise.

    Augusta

    Augusta was creted by a large shift of population, around this timew many acres of land had been ceased. With the developing colonies population moving Legislature decided to follow the majority and on Febuary 22, 1785 "All future meetings of the Legislature shall be and continue at that place (Augusta) until otherwise ordered."

    Louisville

    Louisville grew as a result of the mass immigration coming from the North after the Revolutionary War. By the mid 1780's the population of Western Georgia out weighed the population of coastal Georgia, and so a new capital was demanded. on January 26, 1786 the name Louisville (after the ally King Louis XVI)

    The first African American Baptist church
    The creation of the first black baptist church was organized by George Liele, he began by organizing small congregations for the Africaan Americans in Savvannah. Andrew Bryan wo was Baptized by Liele, carried on the worship services with Lieles' remaining members and in january 1788 Andrew Bryan was ordained (before any white baptists).

    Creation of the cotton gin
    The Cotton GIn is a simple machine that separates cotton fibers from the seeds. Used to remove seeds from short stapled cotton, the gin used wire teeth within a wooden cylinder that, when rotated, seperated the cotton fibers from the seed.

    Milledgeville

    The city of Milledgeville was named and created in honor of late governor John Milledgeville. The Georgia legislature established that 500 acres of land West of the Oconee river would be surveyed in order to create a new city. Milledgevilles population came to be due to the fact that during the time of its creation many people were migrating towards the West, after a while the population West became denser and a new capitol was needed.

    Railroads in Georgia

    The first Georgian railroad created was 136 miles strecthed from Charleston, South carolina to Hamburg, Georgia. Though people feared that the creation of this railroad would lead to the people of South Carolina benefit more from it they were proven wrong. The railroad system proved to be an efficient means of trade for everyboody involved it was also an fast and easy way for transportation at the time.

    Atlanta

    On July 4 the first meeting of the Georgia Legislature took place in Atlanta, marking its official right as the Georgia Capital. The reason why This city was chosen nextwas because of its already massive impact with the Industrial Revolution. The major thing that set the ball in motion for this cityt was the fact that on June 30, 1868 the governor moved into Atlanta bringing all his belongings.
