  • Confederate President

  • Union President

    Abraham Lincoln is sworn in as Union President. He is also the reason why states succedded from the union.
  • The Begining

    With 50 cannons Gen. Pierre Beauregard of the Confederate army open fired on fort sumter, thus starting the civil war.
  • Southern Bolckade

    President Lincoln issued a statement that the Union would place a blockade on every confederate port. Cutting the south off from foreign imports and exports.
  • Cry for Help

    President Lincoln addresses a speach that it is congresses job to "elevate the condition of men" congress then calls for 500,00 men to arms.
  • First Bull Run

    Thomas j. jackson earned his nickname "stonewall" after holding back union forces. forcing them to retreat to washington. "Its damned bada" lincoln commented.
  • The Iron battle

    The union ironclad ship the moniter and the confederate ironclad the merrimac battle for the first time. Changing naval tactics forever.
  • Antietam

    In US military history, this is the bloodiest day with over 26,000 men dead. General Lee's armies are stopped and forced to retreat to virgina by ournumbering union forces.
  • First US draft

    Congress enacts a draft stating thatmale citizens aged 20-45 to possibly serve in the military. 300$ would excempt you from the draft.
  • Gettysburg

    The winner of this battle would have the edge on the war. If the south (under gen.lee) won they would have a clear shot to washington. If the union won they would have a clear shot to richmond. The union ultimatley won.
  • On to Richmond

    All of the union armies under Grant, a force of about 120,000 advance towards richmond. with Lee's army numbering around 64,000. One of the final steps in ending the wara.
  • Cold harbor

    A stupid, and costly mistake made by Union general Grant resulting in 7,00 northern casualties in under 20 minutes. While trying to storm a heavily fortified fort of rebels in cold harbor virginia.
  • Second lincoln

    President Lincoln beats George b. mcClellan in the race for office. winning with more then half of the popular vote and almost a land slide in electoral votes.
  • March to the sea

    The tennessee Army of 22,000 is crushed by 55,000 union troops with negro troops. Tennesse after ceases being an affeective fighting force for the confederatet states. cripling the south in their efforts badly.
  • The 13th amendment

    Congress passes the 13th amendment with the idea to abolish slavery in the united states. Then was sent to the states so that it could be ratificated.
  • Lee surrrenders

    General Robert e. Lee surrenders to General Ulysses s. Grant at Appomattox Court House in Virginia. Grant is nice enough to let officers and soldiers keep their horses, sidearms, and mules.
  • Assasination of Lincoln

    President lincoln attends Fords theatre to watch "our americans cousin" During the third act John wilkes booth shots lincoln in the head. Lincoln dies at 7:22 in the morning despite doctors best efforts.
  • The End

    The remaining Confederate forces surrender and the country is once again re-united as one. Over 620,000 americans die, with disease killing 1/3 of that. 50,000 men return home as amputees.

    The 13th ammendment is finnaly ratified by congress. Thus putting a final end to slavery in the United States of America
