    French are forced to make peace.

    General Wolfe defeats the French outside Quebec. British then go on to take Montreal, the Ohio River Vally, and the area around The Great Lakes forcing the French to make peace with the British.

    Treaty of Paris Signed

    Treaty of Paris signed. Transferred all lands to the British from the Mississippi River to the Appalachian Mountains. The British pass the Proclamation of 1763 in the colonies stating that colonists could not expand over the Appalachian Mountains.

    Law Passed Against Colonies Having Their Own Money

    Law passed that stated colonies could not print or use their own money.

    Stamp Act Passed

    Stamp Act Passed. This put a tax on 54 types of paper including; wills, licenses, newspapers, and playing cards. Colonists started protesting taxes. The phrase "no taxation without representation" coined.

    Townsend Act passed which placed taxes on tea, paint, glass, and paper. Colonists started boycotting goods made in England.

    France granted diplomatic recognition to the United States.

    General Cornwallis surrenders in Yorktown. British then decide to end the war.

    Treaty of Paris signed, in which the British recognized the independance of the United States. Also the United States gained control of all the land between the Mississippi River and the Appalachian Mountains.
