  • Treaty paris

    Great Britain and France had war, in 1763, Hotel d'York. Great Britain won and signed a treaty, but lost alot of money because of the costs of the war.
  • Sugar act

    After the war with France, Great Britain needed money for the cost for the war. Great Britian tried to tax the colonist with sugar. But is stopped by Colonists doing boycott.
  • Stamp act

    Stamp act
    Great Britain tried to tax agian but Colonist still boycotted and avoided the tax, 1765 in Boston. This angered the Colonists agian.
  • Writ of assistance

    Writ of assistance
    A written order by court instructing a law enforcement official, like a tax collecter. Writ of assistance was used for sugar, stamp, tea etc. to help pay for thier war with France.
  • Townsend acts

    Townsend acts
    Great Britain tried to tax when the Colonists leave and/or come back into land, this was again stopped by Colonists after the Bostin Massacar.
  • Bostin massacre

    Bostin massacre
    Colonists refuse and protest about the taxes and no one knows what happened but one heard a shot fired and all troops started shooting, ending the Townsend acts.
  • Tea act

    Great Britain still trying to tax the Colonists, decide to put a tax on tea, of course the Colonists get upset and do something about it the following year.
  • Bostin tea party

    Colonists and others dress up and board the ship and dumped all the tea out into the harbor, ending the tea tax but causing the king to be outraged.

    Great Britain finally says that the Colonists cannot be avoiding tax and rebeling. So the Intolerable acts was made to punnish the Colonists after dumping the tea. This ticked off the Colonists pretty good.
  • First Contenantel Congress

    First Contenantel Congress was a convention of delegates, accomplishing on Boycott and planning next contenental congress on December 1st.
  • Lexington/Concord

    Lexington/Concord
    Some Colonists that are agenst Great Britain (Aka. Patriots) went to Lexington after taking weapons and stockpileing them in Concord, Great Britain later sent troops and met with some Minutemen who were on the bridge. Both sides armed and ready, No one knows who did, but one of the sides shot, and they all open fire on eachother, causing the troops to flee.
  • Bunker hill

    Bunker hill
    Patriots took bunker hill and one said "Do not fire until you see the white of thier eyes.". Great Britain of 2000 troops tried going up the hill but the Patriots shot them down and eventually ran out of ammo so they had to withdraw, losing bunker hill. This made Great Britain nervous and Patriots confident.

    Second Contenantel Congress was a convention of delegates from twelve Colonies, moving closer to independance. Its predecessor sent a letter to the king to stop the Coercive Acts, but the king declined it and contenued war.
  • Decleration of Independance

    Decleration of Independance
    Statement adopted by Continental Congress, no longer being part of Great Britain and forming a new Nation, The United States of America (USA). After winning the battles they have done (eg Bunker Hill) and Great Britain's unfair taxes and not letting Colonists have anything to say, created thier own Nation for the Decleration of Independance.
