    The first person ever to invent the video tape recorder was Charles P. Ginsburg in 1951, Ginsburg led the Ampex Corporation in developing this. The first Video Tape Recorder wsas sold for $50,000 in 1956. The VCR that played these tapes was sold by Sony in 1971
