Hitler becomes Chancellor of Germany
In 1933, Herr Hitler was appointed Chancellor of the Reich. Hitler was appointed by President Paul von Hindenburg. This is the begining of Hitler concise plan. When he was appointed there were huge parties thrown all throughout the streets. -
Reichstag Fire
The Reichstag is where the parliment assembles. There was an arson set on the Reichstag, and it is believed that the fire was started by a communist. This gave Hitler more evidence that communist were trying take over Germany. This supported Hitler to becoming a dictator. -
Enabling Act
The Enabing Act was signed by President Hindenburg and Germany's Reichstag. This said that Hitler had all parliment powers. He could now do things without having to pass it through parliment. This is the second step of Hitler becoming a dictator. -
Hitler becomes Dictator
Hitler becomes dictator after Hindenburg dies; he decides to take on his roles as president as well as chancellor. Hitler also secretly had his Nazi party act badly in the community so he could tell parliment that they need to become a fascitst country. They did not argue with him. -
Germany violates Treaty of Versailles
In 1919, after World War 1, the allied powers made Germany sign the Treaty of Versailles which said they couldn't have more then a certain number of troops and they had to pay a war debt. In 1935, Hitler decided that it was not fair, so he exceded the limit of troops. -
Japan invades China
Japan sends troops to the major cities of China to invade them. Japan recently signed an Anti-Comintern Pact that went against all communist countries. This starts the war in the Pacific. -
Meeting with Germany, France, Britain, and Italy
This meeting is called The Munich Agreement. It was held in Germany, all of Europes majors powers was at this meeting. It was called mainly to permit Germany in taking over Sudetenland, Czechoslovakia. This took most of Czechoslovakia's power since it was on the border. They had most of the defenses there. This set Hitler up to control all of Czechoslovakia. -
Germany invades Poland
Poland gets invaded by Germany and Soviet Union on September 1939. Germany and the Soviet Union agreed on how much land each could have. This essentially starts the war in Europe. initiates war in europe -
Great Britain and France declares war on Germany
This is when World War 2 was declared. There were two sides of the war. The allies, which consisted of Soviet Union, British Empire, and later U.S. The Axis powers mainly consisted of Italy, Germany, and Japan. -
Japan joins Axis
Japan joins the Axis Powers. This is an alliance during world war 2, that consisted of Japan, Germany, and Italy. They were all fascist, which meant they did not agree with communism.
