Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre was an incident that happened in the town of Boston. A few colonists were arguing about a haircut with a few of the British soliders. The argument got escaladed and tension grew. One of the soilders ended up accidentally firing and the bullet killed a colonist. After that four more colonists died. -
Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party also happened in the town of Boston. It was an action taking by Boston colonists. The tension was very high between the colonists and Britian. The colonists decided to take action on the Tea tax and dump a huge amount of tea from one of the ships in Boston's ports. -
Battle of Lexington & Concord
The Battle of Lexington and Concord was won by the Americans. When the British recieved orders to go raid a storage of the American miltia's war supplies. Americans got notified of the British coming to take there stuff and they moved it ahead of time. The British troops got shot at on the way there and back and that is how the battle was fought. -
Battle of Bunker Hill
This battle was a battle of a position on top of a hill. The British were planning an attack on the hill and the Americans heard about it. They fought the battle and the British came out on top. -
Battle of New York
Howe led the army to attack on America. The British troops and the Hessians landed in Long Island. The British had much bigger armies against the smaller American armies. The result was an American retreat. -
Declaration of Independence Signing
This document stated that the 13 American Colonies were free from Great Britian. Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence. Fifty-six delegates signed the Declaration of Independence. -
Battle of Trenton
This was another battle won by the Americans. It only took the Americans a short while to capture almost all of the Hessian, German soldiers. After the battle was fought and the Americans came out on top it increased the American spirit. -
Battle of Princeton
This was a very important win for the Americans. They were down in the dumps about being a bad army and Washington led them out and led them to a great victory, This battle lifted the American spirits. -
Battle of Saratoga
Saratoga was won by the Americans. Howe had a wonderful plan to split the colonies. One of the other British commanders messed it up and the Americans ended the plan. -
Valley Forge
Valley Forge was a winter training camp to train the American army. Many died but the American's got well trained. -
Battle of Yorktown
Cornwallis get trapped on all three sides by Washington. Cornwallis's surrender marks the end of the Revolutionary War. -
Treaty of Paris (the one that ended the Revolutionary War)
This officially ends the conflict between Britian and America. It sets the borders for the new country.
