The team was established in Baltimore, Maryland in 1953. The club can actually be traced back to a team called the Dayton Triangles which was created in 1913 and was one of the founding teams of the NFL. -

First Game
The Colts won their first game against the Chicago Bears 13-9 which was a great start for the team. -
Cheerleaders
The Baltimore Colts became the first team ever to introduce the use of cheerleaders and a marching band into the NFL. -
The Greatest Game Ever Played
The Baltimore Colts played the New York Giants in the NFL Championship game at Yankee Stadium and won with a sudden death overtime 23-17. Many call this the greatest game of football ever played. This was their first NFL Championship win. -
2nd NFL Championship
On Dec 27th 1959 the Colts faced the New York Giants and won 31-16 which gave them their second NFL Championship win. -
3rd NFL Championship
On Dec 29th 1968 the Colts won against the Cleveland Browns 34-0. This was their third NFL Championship win. -
Super Bowl III
Super Bowl III is considered to be one of the greatest upsets in sports history. The New York Jets defeated the Baltimore Colts 16-7. This was so upseting for the Colts because the Jets were an AFL team and were the underdogs, the Colts were the NFL champions and were favoured. -
Super Bowl V
Up to this point the Colts had won 3 NFL Championships, and now they beat the Dallas Cowboys 16-13 and won Super Bowl V on Jan 17th 1971. -

This was the first season played as the team name Indianapolis Colts. They didn't do so well and finished the season with a 4-12 win/loss ratio. -
