Leopard (British) fires on the Chesapeake (American) because US officers wouldn't let Brit. officers arrest 4 sailors that were being accused of being deserters of the British navy. Three Americans were killed, 18 wounded. Chesapeake surrenders, the 4 soldiers were removed. -
