Read the first section (chapter, scene, poem) of the text.

Disccuss the section of the text read as a class or small group.

Students set up their timeline for the text and make their first entry. The date on their timeline would correspond to the actual date created.

Read through the second section of the text.

Discuss the second section as a class or in small groups.

Students add the next event to their timeline.

Continue events 1-3 for each proceeding section of the text.

Once text has been read (a few weeks to a month later) and the students have completed their timeline they add a timespan.
