    The arab invasions
    During the seventh century, the arabs invaded North America three times. When their leader, Muhammad, the prophet of Islam died in 632, they started gaining a reputation of being victorious on the battlefield. The armies of Islam quickly took over their neighbours. In 639 they entered Eygpt which led to invading Spain 43 years later. They wanted to show the world they were impressive and brave which they did aswell as spread their religion to many other countries.

    The Battle of Hastings
    Hastings is a city which made people to believe that The Battle of Hastings was fought there but it was actually fought 6 miles from Hastings. This battle was fought on the south east coast of England in Sussex. The number of people killed was estimated to be about 100000 people. The battle of Hastings had a great effect on the Bristish lifeatyle because of the man who won the battle, William who changed many laws. He was french and the English and French had very different lifestyles.

    The first crusade
    The first crusade was when the muslims attempted to take control of Jerusalem which they had suceeded. After they had taken control of the city, any christian that wanted to enter the city would have a hard time which made them angry. This led to one christian asking the pope for help. The pope spoke to a great crowd in France and decided that this was going to become a war. Evenutally the muslims were defeated and killed most muslims and wanted all muslims dead which led to other crusades.

    Mongols attempt to invade
    In 1274, the mongols had attempted to invade Japan. The reason they did was because Japan failed to pay tribute to the mongols. Although they didn't succeed in invading, they had certainly made an impact on the Japanese as they built a 20km wall to protect themselves from another invasion.

    The mona lisa
    The woman in the portrait is Lisa Del Giocondo. Her husband, Leornado De Vinci decided to paint a portrait of her to celebrate their second son. It was originally meant to be hung in their new home. The mona lisa wasn't famous until 1911 when it was stolen which involved alot of press which then got the mona lisa famous.
