  • Creation of the Ho Chi Minh trail

    The N. Vietnamese Army unit group 559, built a trail to bring supplies from N. Vietnam to N. Vietnamese troops that were fighting in South Vietnam. This trail ran mostly along the Vietnamese/Cambodian border. This trail was named the Ho Chi Minh trail.

  • United States becomes actively involved

    President JFK sends new equipment such as food,water,guns,and simple provisions as well as 3,000 men for advisors and support personnel to the S. Vietnamese war effort to defend from the N. Vietnamese.

  • Operation Ranchhand

    This operation was to reduce the amount of ambushes on US convoys that were travelling on the highways. The U.S basically got rid of all vegetation near highways using agent orange this poisoned many vietnamese crops.

  • Operation Junction City

    This operation was said to be one of the largest air-mobile attacks ever having 240 helicopters fly over Tay Ninh province. The main goal of this operation was to destroy enemy bases and headquarters, weakening the enemy side. 30,000 US troops took place in this, along with 5,000 South Vietnamese troops! This lasted 72 days
