    With the declaration of the second world war, many groups believed the "american tradition" to be out, and so they became more conservative along with the popular culture

    The era saw the rise of bigger boobs and thin waistlines. Famous people such as Marliyn Monroe set the bar for women who had previously tried to lose their curves, but now must try to regain them, as this was in.

    The 70's saw petticoats and girdles become outdated and brought back the natural look of women. Fashionable meant small hips and waist. This period brought back good looks and fitness.
  • Present and beyond

    As we are in the present, women strive to be skinny and often resort to radical diets or strange surgeries in order to attain this slenderness. This is caused by popular cultures view of women.
