    Berling Land Bridge, Paleo-Indians

    The Paleo-Indians crossed the bridge into Alaska when in the Ice Age. They were hunter gatherers who followed the migrating buffaloes. (p. 6)
  • 5000 BCE

    North America- Early Societies

    The early societies of North America wer hunter-gatherers who later on started to farm. Some of the groups were the Anazies, and the Iroquois.
  • 1492 BCE

    Atlantic Ocean-1492

    In 1492, Columbus sailed the ocean blue. They started the voyage on August 3, 1492but found the Americas at October 12, 1492

    Mali- Leaders of Mali

    Sundiata was the first leader of Mali who also conquered nearby countries, such as Ghana. But later on, the most famuos ruler of Mali is Mansa Musa, who lead Mali into the height of their power and wealth. When he left for the religious pilgrimage to Mecca, he was so rich that he raised expenses to the way there.

    Mesoamerica- Earliest civilization in Mesoamerica.

    The Olmec are known as the earliest civilization in th Mesoamerica that are known. They built pyramids and grew maize(corns).

    Europe- Trade

    The Silk Road formed as the Mongol rulers made them. Marco Polo visited China and people started to know about Asia and people started to trade with them. Although the Europeans technology increased, the Black Death killed lots, which was a not good time.

    North America- First settlements

    The first settlements that reached North America were the Vikings, who raided countries throughout Europe, but also had large trading networks. Leif Ericsson, the son of Erik the Red, sailed to North America because of the strong winds that led them off track.

    Europe- Significant events

    Johannes Gutenberg made the printing press at 1450. In 1492 Columbus sailed the ocean blue. Martin Luther nailed his 95-thesis to the door of the church in 1517. The English defeat the Spanish Armada in 1588.

    North America- permanent settlemen

    In the late 1500s, England decided to make a permanent settlement in North America. Sir Walter Raleigh was given a charter and at 1584, he sent an expedition which landed at Virginia and North Carolina.

    Spain- Legal Slaves

    In 1510, the Spanish government legalized selling and buying slaves in its colonies.

    Florida- First European

    Juan Ponce de León became the first European to reach Florida.
  • 1540

    North America Southwest- Seven Cities of Gold

    In 1540, Francisco Vásquez de Coronado wanted to find the seven cities of gold from rumers. He traveled through the present day New Mexico and Arizona, finding the Grandi Canyon. He continued to travel through Texas and Oklahoma, going as far north as Kansas but eventually turned back.
  • America- first colony

    On April 26, 1607, the first 105 colonists that were sent by the London Company arrived in America. However, they were not entirely prepared to face the survival which were resulted to losing two thirds of the original colonists.
  • New Netherlands- Finding New Netherlands

    The Dutch people founded the New Netherlands after they exchanged fur with the Iroquois people, using the place as a trade post. The colony started with Director Peter Stuyvesant, when he found the New Netherlands.
  • Virginia- Mayflower

    The Mayflower had more than 100 men, women, and children on board which some were not Pilgrims which the travel was 2 months long. When they landed at the north of Virginia, they didn't have a charter with them. So they made their own laws and social rules to govern the colony that they would find. The. male passengers also signed the Mayflower Compact,which was one of the first attempts to self-govern in the English Colonies.
  • North America- English Bill of Rights

    The Parliament gained power as they replaced King James and passed the English Bill of Rights which reduced the power of the English Monarch.
  • Period: to

    America- Great Awakening

    Many American colonists experienced this Great Awakening which was a religious movement and that swept through the colonies. This event changed the colonial religion.
  • Boston- Boston Tea Party

    The colonists disguised themselves as Indians onto 3 ships that were filled with tea. They dumped 340 tea chests into BostonHarbor.
  • Modern day example (chapter 2)

    As the Portugal used to have the land that current day Brazil is in, it is shown as a modern day example as Brazil people still speak Portuguese.
  • Modern example (chapter 3)

    The Great Awakening is an example since when Jonathan Edwards of Massachusetts said that sinners seek forgiveness or else they face punishment of eternal world the opposite of heaven (you know...) which is connected to this modern world by Christianity that we have right now.

    The political ideas of the republic and democracy is currently used by the American political system, known as the democratic republic.
