    The Vietnam War began November 1st 1955 and ended April 30th 1975. It carried throughout the 60s with many Americans not supporting the war effort. A lot of American resources and funding was going to the war effort. This prevented and stalled President Johnson's "Great Society" deal.

  • JFK Proposes Big Tax Cuts

  • Economic Opportunity Act of 1964.

    President Lyndon b. Johnson gave a speech on how he wanted everyone in America to be living a wonderful successful life. Bring down poverty. "This act authorized a number of programs including Head Start; work-study programs for college students; Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA), a domestic version of the Peace Corps; and various adult job-training programs.
  • Johnson Signs Transit Bill

    President Johnson puts money to be spent on just transportation. To fix roads, and other sources of transportation. "President Lyndon Johnson signs the Urban Mass Transit Act allocating $375 million for the construction of urban transit systems."
  • Stock Market went over 1 thousand.

  • Minimum Wage increase
