Stock market crashed causing a lot of chaos between people. Many people went to banks to withdraw money but the banks didn’t have enough reserves and lost all their money causing a collapse in the banking system. -
Creation of Hoovervilles
Hoovervilles were first established by President Hoover to try and combat homelessness and poverty. They kept popping up throughout the country until the early 40s. -
New Deal
President Roosevelt campaigned with the idea of how to get the US out of the depression. When in office he immediately enacted the first part of the New Deal and continued to enact projects through 1936. The New Deal was somewhat successful but did not do what it was designed to do.
