    Sacco and Vanzetti
    Sacco and Vanzetti are two Italian men who were convinced of murdering a guard and paymaster during a robbery. Their trial lasted nearly seven weeks. They were eventually accused of the murder and executed.
  • Women can vote in the United States

    Women can vote in the United States
    The 19th amendment was passed to on August 18th, 1920. This allowed women to vote in the United States. You had to be 21or older to be qualified to vote.
  • Harding Dies

    Harding Dies
    On August 2nd Harding dies. Harding was a president and died of a heart attack. He is ranked one of the worst presidents ever even being the 29th.

    The immigration quota act declined the number of immigrants in the United States. The number of immigrants to legal citizens in 1924 was about 2%. This act kept most immigrants out of the United States and people felt safer about their jobs and other needed necessities.

    A new dress had become popular and it was named the flapper dress. The women who wore this were known as flappers. Every women wanted one to wear around.

    The Charleston became popular around mid-1926. This was a very big dance for jazz music. The rhythm was 4/4 and kept everybody moving while they were participating in it.

    The biggest fight of the 1920’s was Gene Tunney and Jack Dempsey. This fight happened at Madison Square Garden. Dempsey knocked down Tunney but did not go to his corner so the referee could not start the count which costed Dempsey and he went on to lose later that fight.

    On September 30th Babe Ruth came up to by needing one homerun to beat his own record of 59 homeruns in a season and set a new one for 60 homeruns in a single season. It was a very anticipated at bat before he came up then he finally got to the plate and belted a homerun for the record.

    The Kellogg-Briand Pact was a multilateral pact focused on trying to outlaw war between Italy, Japan, Germany, UK, France, and the US. The pact was the result of a determined American effort to avoid involvement in the European alliance system.

    This Stock Market Crash was one of the reasons of the Great Depression. The cause of the crash was the increased use of buying stocks "on margin". The crash devestated the ecnomy and is also known as the Great Wallstreet Crash of 1929.
