    Treaty of Versailles
    The Treaty of Versailles was a peace settlement signed at the end of world war one in the Versailles Palace Which was exactly fives years after the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, one of the causes of WW1. It was between Germany and the Allies to penalize Germany for the damage the caused in the war and to try and stop them from having a force or means to start another world war. Germany had restrictions on their military and territory as well as damage to their economy and pride.
  • League of Nations

    League of Nations
    The League of Nations was an intergovernmental organization with an aim to create world peace and sustain it. It was founded on the 10th of January 1920 and had its first meeting on the 16th of January 1920 which was held in Geneva, Switzerland. It had 42 founding members With Sir Eric Drummond being the Secretary General. The league gave enough power to the secretary general to have reduced operations. Eventually, it demised and its last meeting was on the 18th of April 1946.
  • Kellogg-Briand Pact

    Kellogg-Briand Pact
    The Kellogg-Briand pact was an agreement signed in Paris 1928 and named after its authors, US Secretary of State Frank B. Kellogg and French Foreign Minister Aristide Briand.Its purpose was to prevent/outlaw war. It had two main clauses; the first outlawed war as an instrument of national policy and the other called on those who signed to settle their disputes by peaceful means. It was originally signed by representatives from 15 countries and was to come into effect on the 25th of July 1929.

    The stock market crash of 1929 also known as Black Tuesday started on the 29th of October. It was the biggest stock market crash in the history of the United States and was one of the onsets to the great depression that was suffered for 10 years. On the 24th of October, the market lost 11 percent of its value and on the 29th about 16 million shares traded as the panic selling reached its peak. Because of such a great economic failure many businesses failed and many people were left homeless.

    Hitler becomes Fuehrer and Reich Chancellor
    On January 30th, 1933 President Hindenburg was forced to appoint Hitler as Chancellor, given his popular support. While in this position he focused on gaining power and getting NAZIs into office. When Hindenburg died in 1934 Hitlers power over Germany was secured.He abolished the title of president and officially became Fuehrer and Reich Chancellor which in English means Leader and Chancellor. He demanded unquestionable obediance from all those lower than him which was everyone in his opinion.

     First Inauguration of Franklin D. Roosevelt
    Franklin Roosevelt Was elected president of the United States in 1932 and his inauguration day was on the 4th of March 1933. He was elected during the great depression were he create a social welfare strategy called the new deal to fight the economic and social tragedy of the Great Depression. He was also the president at the start of the second world war where he was part of the big three. He lead America through the devastating events of Pearl Habour and unfortunately died on April 12th 1945.

    Germany leaves the League Of Nations
    Germany left the League of Nations in 1933 because of Hitler's demand that they must. A referendum was held to see support in his demand and its results showed 95.1% in agreement with him. Some would say this was because there was huge official pressure against the public. He ordered German delegates to leave the Disarmament Conference in Geneva while he withdrew from the league. His reasoning being that Germany's military was disarmed but other countries were refusing to disarm their own.

    On the 1st of September, 1939 Germany invaded Poland under the incorrect pretense that Poles has carried out a series of sabotages towards Germany which signified the start of WW2. After this France and Britain Declared war on Germany once Hitler had declared he would not abort his attack on Poland. Before the war had begun Italy and Germany had formed somewhat of an alliance which kept Italy out of Germanies war path. WW2 was mainly fought between two military alliances the Allies and the Axis.
