WW2 was the 2nd international war with Europe and North American .The war was driven mainly by Nazi Germany’s desire for complete control of Europe. The War had heavy casualties, it killed about 70-85 million people. -

The Cold War was a war between U.S and the U.S.S.R. It began in 1947 and ended in 1991. It was a geopolitical war that was waged based on economic, and political factors. -
Declaration of Human Rights
The Declaration of Human Rights was created to set a standard of free speech, diversity, and equality for all. This declaration was universal, meaning it didn’t depend on race or gender. This was a big step in humanity for giving minorities more rights. -
Korean War
The Korean War began shortly after WW2, when the North Koreans desired to have sovereignty over all of Korea. The North Koreans were supported by the Chinese and the U.S.S.R while the South Koreans were supported by the U.N and the U.S/Canada. -
NAFTA
The North American Free Trade Agreement is a agreement negotiated between the U.S, Mexico, and Canada to remove barriers on the exchanging of goods within these countries. NAFTA when it was instated removed all tariffs on exports between these countries. -
Quebec Referendum
This independence referendum if passed would have voided Quebec’s relationship as a province in Canada, and would have created an independent nation. This referendum was mostly supported by conservative Quebecers but still seemed to fail when put up for ballot. -
Civil Marriage Act
This legislation in 2005 legalized same sex marriage within Canada. At the time of this legislation only 3 other countries had legalized same sex marriage, Canada was the 4th.
