  • The Proclamation of 1763

    There was a line placed before the Appalachian Mountains that kept the colonists under British supervision. The colonists were angered because they felt that it was just Britain trying to place restrictions on them.
  • Sugar Act

    It was the British's attempt at putting a stop to imported sugar and molasses from the French. The colonists were angered because they felt it was putting restrictions on their trade.
  • Currency Act

    It prevented any new bills from being created and gained control of the colonial currency system. The colonists were angry because they could no longer print their own money.
  • Quartering Act 1765

    It allowed British soldiers to be housed under the colonist's roofs. The colonists were upset because they were housing strangers and did not feel comfortable.
  • The Stamp Act

    It placed taxes on paper, newspapers, pamphlets, among other things, so the British could gain money. The colonists were angry because the British were gaining from their losses.
  • The Declaratory Act

    It declared that British Parliament could make laws for the American colonies. The colonists were outraged at this because they were seeking independence.
  • The Townshend Acts

    The purpose was to keep British soldiers in the colonies.
  • Boston Massacre

    The colonists were harassing the British soldiers so they retaliated by shooting and killing several colonists.
  • Boston Tea Party

    A group of colonists disguised themselves as Mohawk Indians and dumped tea into the Boston Harbor.
  • The Intolerable Acts

    It was Parliament's response to the Boston Tea Party. Laws were passed in order to punish the colonists.
