  • Currency Act

    -Forbid anyone from accepting anything other than paper money for currency
  • Quartering Act

    -Each colonial household was directed to provide for the basic needs of British soldiers.
  • Stamp Act

    -First direct tax on the colonies.
    -Wills, newspapers, bills, licenses, die, and playing cards were all taxed.
  • Declaratory Act

    -The colonists were required to do whatever the British folks commanded of them.
  • Boston Massacre

    -Five Bostonians and two boys were killed after a riot broke out into a mass of gunfire from the British against the unarmed colonists.
  • The Gaspee Incident

    -British ship was burned down by colonists.
    -No one was injured at all.
    -Act of rebellion from the absurd taxes enacted by the British.
  • Tea Act

    -Proposed to give monopoly ti Eastern India Company on direct purchases.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Sons of Liberty dressed up as Native Americans and threw tea off of the side of a British ship.
    -The reason was to hurt Britain financially and become a nuisance.
  • The Intolerable Acts

    -A series of four intensive acts enacted by the British in order to stop the colonists from plotting against Britain and rioting.
  • Declaration of Independence

    -After the colonies defeated Great Britain in battle, the Continental Congress adopted this document as a formal sign of independence from Britain.
