    The first representative Assembly in America meets in Virginia for the first time. The Assembly is called The House Of Burgesses.
  • Plymouth Colony of Massachusetts.

    Plymouth Colony of Massachusetts.
    Pilgrims from England arrive at Plymouth aboard the Mayflower. Before stepping foot on America the Pilgrims sign an agreement that creates the basis of the colony's government. This agreement is known as the "Mayflower Compact."
  • The Massachusetts Bay Colony

    The Bay Colony in Massachusetts is established. It becomes the first charter colony with Puritan beliefs in America. It is unknown exactly when the colony was established but we know it was during the year 1630.

    Third Anglo-Powhatan War

    The Powhatan Confederacy attempted to drive out the Virginia colonists. Many colonists were killed. However after the construction of Fort Charles, Fort James, and Fort Royal the leader of the Powhatan Confederacy was killed and a treaty was signed to end the war.

    The first Law is passed in Virginia, which defines the rights of slaves. The law states that children of a slave mother inherited her condition. As in if your Mom was a slave then you where a slave as well no matter who your father was.

    Bacon's Rebellion

    After a disagreement between natives and a farmer that escalated into violence. Nathaniel Bacon began to openly attack Natives in the area. The government saw Nathaniel bacon as the problem and put a end to the rebellion.
  • The Decree Of Sanctuary

    The Spanish King issues the Decree of Sanctuary which grants freedom to slaves fleeing the English Colonies if they convert to Catholicism and swear loyalty to Spain.
