    A group of Catholics settled in Maryland and promoted religious tolerance.
  • Slavery in Connecticut

    Slavery was legalized and recognized throughout the colonies.
  • Navigation Act

    Britain passed the Navigation Act. This was there to control commerce in the colonies.
  • Bacon's Rebellion

    Francis Bacon led the burning of Jamestown and was executed along with 23 other men.
  • France Claims Louisiana

    France claimed Louisiana when Robert Cavalier de LaSalle explored the valleys south of the Mississippi.
  • Settlement of Pennsylvania

    William Penn signed a treaty with the Native Americans in Delaware and acquired the land in Pennsylvania.
