  • The Anglo–Spanish War begins

    It was a conflict between Spain and England.
  • The Spanish Armada was defeated in the English Channel.

    The Spanish Armada was a Spanish Fleet of 130 ships. The Armada chose not to attack the English fleet at Plymouth, then failed to establish a temporary anchorage in the Solent, after one Spanish ship had been captured by Sir Francis Drake in the English Channel.
  • The Anglo-Spanish War ended

    The war was brought to an end with the Treaty of London, negotiated in 1604 between representatives of Philip III and the new king of England, James I, and was very favorable to Spain.
