French and Indian War
Control for land started the French and Indian War. The English who wanted to expand they're land moved into territories often claimed by the French. This caused the fighting between the french, indians and the british. -
Sugar Act
Tax on American Colonies. Affected the colonists economy. -
Currency Act
Prohibited the passing of any new bills and the reissue of existing currency. -
Stamp Act
The colonists had to pay tax on every piece of printed paper they used. This set a high standard for the colonists, they were more affected by the standard then the cost of the Stamp Act. -
Townshend Act
The Colonists had to pay taxes on glass, paint, oil, lead and paper. The purpose of this tax was to raise 40,000 Euros a year to administer the colonies. Therefore, more regulation on the colonists. -
Boston Massacre
A crowd of Bostonians threw snowballs around a small group of British Soilders whom were guarding the Boston Customs House. The Soilders became agry when one of them had been hit. They began firing into the crowd, killing 3 and injuring 8. -
Boston Tea Party
342 crates of tea were dumped into the ocean as a response to the tax and restrictions on the purchase of tea. -

First congress. -
Battle of Lexington and Concord
First military engagments of the Revolutionary War. The colonists beat the british troops from taking their supplies. -
Battle of Bunker Hill
Battle between the Americans and the British for Charlestown. The British had won. But the Americans had delt heavy casualties to the red coats. -
Declaration of Independence
Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, John Hancock, were some of the people that signed the Declaration of Independence. The Thirteen Colonies were now Independent of the British Empire. -
Battle of Brandywine
Battle for Philidelphia. The British had won. The British had 17,000 troops and the Americans had 20,600. 200 Americans were killed, 750 wounded and 400 captured. 89 British Soilders were killed, 488 wounded and 6 missing. -
Articles of Confederation
Was the first system of modern confederation. It established the name of the United States of America. -
After the American Revolution
The colonies as a whole were happy to be seperated from the British Empire because they weren't getting taxed anymore. -
Treaty of Peace
It was a treaty of peace between the United States and Spain. It ended any further conflict with Spain.
