    Apollo 11
    Apollo 11 was the 1st Apollo mission to ever land on the moon. "The eagle has landed" is the famous quote uttered by the first man to ever walk on the moon, Neil Armstrong The astronauts on this mission were: Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins. It launched on the 16th of July, 1969, landed on the moon on the 20th of July, and returned on July 24th.

    Apollo 12
    Apollo 12 was the 2nd Apollo flight to land on the moon. The astronauts on this mission were Charles Conrad Jr., Richard Gordon Jr., and Alan Bean. It launched on November 14, 1969, it landed on November 19th, and returned to earth on Novmeber 24th.

  • Apollo 13

    Apollo 13
    Apollo 13 was the third Apollo mission intended to land on the Moon. The craft was successfully launched toward the Moon, but the landing had to be aborted after an oxygen tank ruptured. The astronauts were James Lovell, John Swigett, and Fred Haise. It launched on April 11, 1970, and returned on April 17. NASA called it a succesful failure. I chose this mission even though it didn't land on the moon because it was one of the most famous Apollo missions. It was even made into a movie.

    Apollo 14
    Apollo 14 was the 3rd Apollo mission to land on the moon after Apollo 13 failed due to a rupture in an oxygen tank. The astronauts on this flight were Alan Sheppard Jr., Stuart Roosa, and Edgar Mitchell. It launched on January 31st, 1971, landed on February 5th, and returned on February 9th.

    Apollo 15
    Apollo 15 was the 9th Apollo mission and the 4th to land on the moon. It was also the first mission to use the Lunar Rover. The astronauts on this mission were David Scott, Alfred Wordon, and James Irwin. It launched on July 26, 1971, it landed on July 30th, and returned on August 7th.

    Apollo 16
    Apollo 16 was the 5th Apollo mission to land on the moon and the first to land on the highlands area of the moon. The astronauts on this mission were John Young, Kenneth Mattingly Jr., and Charles Duke Jr. It launched on April 16th, 1972, landed on April 20th, and returned on April 27th.

  • Apollo 17

    Apollo 17
    Apollo 17 was the 6th and final Apollo mission to land on the moon. The astronauts were Eugene Cernan, Ronald Evans, and, Harrison Schmitt. It launched on December 7th, 1972, it landed December 11th, and it returned on December 19th.
