    At this age, a child practices motor control and learns through exploration.

    Changes and your childs mobility, language, and social skills. Toys such as swings, riding toys with wheels, large balls, wagons, and cardboard boxes.

    Starts to walk, runs, climbs up the stairs. One year old: she says ‘mama’ and ‘dada’ and can respond to simple statements, such as ‘no’ ‘bye-bye’ and ‘give me.’

    Coordination and understanding improve greatly during this year.

    Child wants to do what adults are doing, can start to put three words together and you will find yourself having a conversation with your toddler.

    Can listen to picture stories, enjoys playing with crayons, play dough, large beads to string, large blocks.
  • Age Three

    Almost ready for preschool, increased imagination bring interest in more complex toys requiring fine motor skills.
  • Age Three

    Child can tell people her name and know her sex, can count up to 3 or higher
  • Age Three

    Three-year-olds love to mold play dough, color, cut with blunt scissors, and paint.
  • Age Three

    Three-year-olds spend longer periods with books than younger children, and enjoy listening to music.
