    Germany invades Belgium
    Germany wanted access to France. They decided to carry out the Schlieffen Plan, taking out france in order two eliminate one of the two countries (russia and france) threatening its boundaries. Therefore, they're plan after invading Belgium involved moving through Holland and then southwards, cutting off Paris from the sea. They ended up ruling over Belgium for the next few years.

    Gallipoli remains to be considered as one of the Allies great disasters in World War One. Winston Churchill had the great idea to end the war by making a new front that the enemies couldn't deal with. With miscommunication, and believing that the Turks were the Central Powers' weak link, the allies attacked from Egypt. The initial attacks went well, but poor planning and confusion led to utter disaster.
