    George Washington
    George Washington married Martha Dand Rigecust in 1759. They had no children. In 1775 the congress made George Washington comander and cheif of the contanental army.
  • John Adams

    John Adams
    In about the 1760's he started to go against the British. He was apart of the first and second contenental congress. He was George Washington's vice president and was the president from 1797 to 1801.
  • Stamp Act

    The Stamp act is when Britain needed money to pay off there debt. Britain taxed anything that was made with paper.
  • Boston Masacare

    Boston Masacare
    A group of British soilders shot 13 colonists. Five of them died and the other eight where injuired. The man in charge of the colonists that were shot was arested along with his men. The British soilders thought they heard fire.
  • The Gaspee Afair

    The Gaspee Afair
    A British ship was patroling at night at the Narragansett Bay. A attack was planned by Providence. With about 55 people commanded by John Brown. Over night they attacked and abandond the crew on land.

    Some colonists where dressed up as indians and threw thousands of pounds of tea into the harbor.The colonists where angry about the high taxes and that they can only buy tea from The Colimbia East India Tea Company.

    The Quartering act made the colonists let the British soilders live in their home. The colonists had to buy, and make anything the soilders needed. Most of the colonists treated the soilders bad and spit on them.

    The Interolerable acts were a lot of laws Britan passed to make the colonists pay back all of the tea they dumped in the sea. The stamp act is when all things with paper made with it were taxed.

    The Declatory Act made it so that "the kings" colonies would be safe. The colonists didn't want the king to make them more safe.

    The Declaration of Independance was adopted by the second contenetal congress. The folowing years a war started and the colonies were close to freedom.
