  • Treaty of Versailles

    Treaty of Versailles
    The treaty ended the war between Germany and central powers and the Allied powers. The treaty took over six months to work out the negotiations between the central and Allied powers. The treaty made Germany pay for all the war damages and the debt that the allied powers were in about 31.4 billion dollars. This was called the War Guilt Cause. The central powers also signed similar treaties making them pay as well for the damage and debt the Allied powers were in.
  • League of Nations

    League of Nations
    The league of nations purpose was to make sure another world war didn't occur. The league of nations registered the Treaty of Versailles. This showed that the league had power and was able to end a bigger scale war. The leagues main goals was to settle disputes between other countries and to act as "security" by over shadowing what other countries were doing.
  • The Beer Hall Putsch

    The Beer Hall Putsch
    Hitler and Erich Ludendorff led a march down the Center of Munich with about two thousand Nazis. The Nazis meet the police and confronted them. Men were killed on both sides and Hitler was arrested. He was trialed were he got to talk about his point of view too many that watched. He was guilty of treason and sentenced for 5 years. He then wrote his book Mein Kampf. Hitler was released and realized that power should be attained by a revolution not through force.

    Vladimir Lenin started as a dictator but ended setting up industry's and distributing land to the people. Vladimir didn't set up who he wanted to take power after him and that would be his biggest down fall. He let the country fall into the hands of Stalin who ruined the country as a whole. Vladimir's death set the stage for the next man to be in power. Which was Joseph Stalin. His death allowed Stalin to come into power and become a dictator with unlimited power.

    Stalin takes power of the communist party after Lenin dies. Stalin makes a few five year plans that are intended to take the small society and turn it into a industrial powerhouse. Stalin also took over farms and agriculture. When farmers didn't agree with what he was doing they were slaughtered. He had the secret police all over who would report anyone that was talking "bad" about Stalin and they would be killed. He controlled everything even the soviet media.

    Investors all over sell their shares, a total of 12.9 million shares were sold that day. The day was called Black Thursday. The amount of spending declined with the market crash this lead to the slower production of factors. This caused factors to fire workers and pay the remaining workers little to no money. Many people looked for jobs but 6 million were unemployed in 1931. Investors asked for their money back and banks didn't have it and they had to close.

  • Hitler named Chancellor

    Hitler is named Chancellor of Germany. The people wanted to put Hitler in office cause they were sick of the turmoil and the economic destruction in Germany. This is a turning point for Germany. Hitler immediately makes the police/ Gestapo huge for more control of everything and everyone. The Gestapo was used to crush any opposition to the Nazis or Hitler himself either in armies or politics.
  • Munich Pact is signed

  • German invasion of Poland

    Germany invaded Poland from the North, South, and East. Poland had no chance. The first battle at the front of Poland, the Germans plowed right through them, forcing the Polish to retreat back to the East. The next battle the Battle of the Bzura was another massacre of the Polish. The Germans after that victory saw that the Polish had no chance at winning. The Polish set up for one last time at Romanian Bridgehead. The Germans defeated them many more times and took control of Poland.
