French and Indian War
Date : 1754 This was was a conflict between the British and France over new world territory. It was ended in 1763 with the treaty of paris. The colonists did not like the war because of the raised taxes and new laws. -
Sugar Act
Date 1764 This act was passed by parliament to create revenue for Brittan. The colonists did not like this because it made less profit for them. Taxation without representation. -
Stamp act
This tax required every colonist to pay a tax on every printed paper. This angered the colonists because the could not have a say in the laws and acts and it made them pay more money to help fund Brittan. -
Declaratory Act
The reason for parlement creating the Declaratory Act was to show the colonists the they had the power to tax them. The colonists did not like this because they felt like the had no control. -
Townshend Act
The Townshend Act was a tax on imported goods to the american colonies. Again the colonies did not like this because it required the colonists to pay more money for imported goods. -
Tea Act
The tex act allowed tea to be directly imported to the colonies instead of going through Brittan first. The colonists were still angry about this act. Because there were still taxes imposed on them. -
start of the Revolutionary War
The colonist were finally done with being associated with Britain they were outraged but the taxes and wanted to be removed from their power.
