    The North American colonies of the British against the French. The American Indians were fighting to maintain control of their land and their culture.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act

    It extended the molasses act by changing the tax of exports 6 cents to 3 cents. Colonists were upset because they had no say where the taxes would go.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act

    It declared that stamps were needed on printed material. Stamps were not free and it made people who use paper a lot, like lawyers mad.
  • Declaratory Act

    Declaratory Act

    This was a declaration by the British, that repealed of the stamp act. This taxed the colonies for revenue in the sugar and stamped act. Colonist celebrated a political victory, but others knew more acts would be coming.
  • Townshend Act

    Townshend Act

    This was taxes on glass, lead, paint, paper and tea. Which helped to pay expenses and governing the colonies. The colonist believe they didn’t have a right to tax them.
  • Tea Act

    Tea Act

    This offered tax exemptions and rebates. They dressed up as Indians and dumped tea in the Boston harbor, which lowered the price of tea. Colonist protested thinking this would scare the British, but instead declared more and more acts.
